About Hilton
Hilton is a large village and civil parish in South Derbyshire, lying on the A5132 between Hatton and Willington, a few miles north-east of Burton upon Trent. Once a small farming village in Marston on Dove parish, it was transformed in the 20th century, first by the Second World War ordnance depot and Hilton Gravel works, and then from the 1990s by one of the largest housing developments in Derbyshire, built on the former depot site. Its population has grown to around 8,000, making it one of the biggest villages in the county, and it has a modern village centre with shops, schools and a large village hall. Hilton retains some older buildings, including the Wakelyn Old Hall, a timber-framed house of the 16th century.

What's the difference between hardwood and softwood logs?
Softwood logs burn much more quickly as they are from fast growing species of trees. The wood is less dense, contains less fuel, leading to a hot, but short burn.
Hardwood logs are from slower growing species of trees such as Ash, Oak, Beech etc. The wood is denser, contains more fuel, and as such burns longer and hotter. We make sure that we select the best quality hardwood logs for our firewood, to guarantee a warm home.

About Our Firewood
We are a small family business based in Anslow, just outside Burton upon Trent. We take pride in both the service we provide, and the quality of our firewood.
We source our hardwood from UK woodlands. All the wood we use is removed as part of forestry management and we try our best to source only local timber. We do not offer softwood firewood.
We season our wood naturally, it is not kiln dried and as such has a lower carbon footprint. Find out more about why we naturally season our wood.
