About Anglesey

Anglesey is a civil parish covering the southern part of Burton upon Trent town centre, around Anglesey Road, and takes its name from the Marquesses of Anglesey, the Paget family who were lords of the manor of Burton from the Dissolution. It was created in 2003 when Burton was parished and had a population of 6,809 at the 2011 census. The housing is predominantly late 19th- and early 20th-century terraces built for brewery workers, and the area is home to a diverse, multicultural community. The parish's two listed buildings are both former breweries, a reminder of the industry that shaped this part of town, and Anglesey has a large park with play areas, football pitches and a skate park.

What's the difference between hardwood and softwood logs?

Softwood logs burn much more quickly as they are from fast growing species of trees. The wood is less dense, contains less fuel, leading to a hot, but short burn.

Hardwood logs are from slower growing species of trees such as Ash, Oak, Beech etc. The wood is denser, contains more fuel, and as such burns longer and hotter. We make sure that we select the best quality hardwood logs for our firewood, to guarantee a warm home.

About Our Firewood

We are a small family business based in Anslow, just outside Burton upon Trent. We take pride in both the service we provide, and the quality of our firewood.

We source our hardwood from UK woodlands. All the wood we use is removed as part of forestry management and we try our best to source only local timber. We do not offer softwood firewood.

We season our wood naturally, it is not kiln dried and as such has a lower carbon footprint. Find out more about why we naturally season our wood.
